In this series, we will be utilizing the movie FIREPROOF as we dig into the Bible to see what it has to say about working at your relationships and building them up so that they can withstand the heat of the difficulties we all face.
In the movie, FIREPROOF, Michael, one of the firemen, defines fireproof by saying, ”Fireproof doesn’t mean that fire will never come, but that when it comes you’ll be able to withstand it.” In our marriages, and all our relationships, there will be times when they are tested. The fire will come. Since difficulties are going to come, our goal should be to be equipped to withstand them. What we want to look at in this series is fireproofing our marriages – fireproofing all our relationships.
If you’ve haven’t seen FIREPROOF, that’s okay, you’ll still get a lot out of this series because it’s real base is the Bible and the movie is just a tool that we’re going to use to help illustrate some of the truths we read in the Bible about working at your relationships. And even though the main relationship we’ll be talking about is marriage, these same principles apply in all our relationships.
